Man has body, mind and intellect. There are six enemies of man called shad ripu. These are Anger, Lust, Vanity, Greed, Attachment and Jealousy. Body is reined by the mind and directed to perform good or bad by the intelligence of rider. The Body-Mind-intelligence combination is needed to constantly overcome the Shad Ripu to gain happiness. Desire gives birth to “Shad Ripu”. The greater our desires, the greater is the anger against the obstacles in the path of fulfilment of that desire. Our behaviour is controlled by the interaction of Body, mind and intellect with the “Shad Ripu”. Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour. It deals with the malfunctions of mind like phobias, the depressions, the anxieties, the aberrations to the sub conscious mind and linked dreams with it. Astrology recommends to analyse a horoscope from Ascendant, Moon and Sun. Ascendant represents body which has organs(the indriya) which run after each desire. They are reined by mind. Mind is Moon. The reins are in the hands of- the Atman- the Sun.

Truth about Shani(Saturn)
Shani is one of the navgrahas. The origin of Shani comes from Shanaya Krama i.e one who moves slowly as Saturn takes about 30 years to rotate around Sun. Shani is known to be the greatest trouble giver and the Sade sati is also often considered as a bad period but the truth is Shani is harmful to the persons who follow the path of betrayal, back stabbing and unjust revenge. Shani is the planet of patience, the planet of justice and a greatest teacher. People who go through Sade Sati emerge as much stronger, self aware and better human beings after the period is over. Many people have seen their astronomical rise in this period. The worship of Lord Hanuman is a panacea for the harsh effects of the unfavourable presence of Lord Shani. Shani is also called the planet of destiny. No other planet is so deeply associated with prarabdha karma. Saturn’s 10th aspect shows a person’s duties and responsibilities. So if one doesn’t fulfil the responsibilities then Shani doesn’t spare as Shani is the lord of Karma. It tests us and push us to our limits. Saturn is about commitment and truth in relationships.
Astrology and Karma
Karma theory is based on three pillars reincarnation, man cannot escape from doing actions, fruits of action have to be enjoyed/suffered. Astrology is about reading the karmic pattern which has a link with past life and future life. We divide the horoscope in four parts Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.1,5,9 houses are Dharma houses, 2,6,10 houses are Artha houses, 3,7,11 houses are Kama houses and 4,8,12 are Moksha houses. The signs and the planets occupying and influencing these houses indicate the Karmic pattern. If the majority of planets are in Artha and Kama houses, the native’s inclination and motivations are oriented in that direction. He has desires(Kama) and the money (Artha) and if they match at the right time in the native’s chronological growth, he can enjoy them to full. This is the pattern, which is laid out in the horoscope. On the other hand, a native due to achieve emanicipation would have a planetary distribution in his Dharma and Moksha segments. Various combinations are possible and that is why we see people having differing outlooks and motivations.5th house is the house of Poorva Janama Punya.9th house is 5th from 5th house and it indicates what are we inclined to perform in the present life and also it ties us to future life.
Utility of Astrology
Often people ask this question that if everything is destined then what is the use of astrology. First of all, I would like to inform that destiny no doubt is there otherwise why you are born in a particular family. Not every human being is same. Each one has his own traits which differentiates him from other. Each human birth takes place to carry out its allocated task in accordance with its karma. This is evident from the fact that not everyone is born with silver spoon. Also the fact that we can predict how the person is in a particular area gives precedence to the fact. Astrology can tell how was your past and how the present would be. Also astrology can give you a direction. It can help in timing of events so that you can plan well for the event. It can help you in choosing your profession/work.With the help of astrology, one can make maximum use of a good period. It is about adapting oneself to the running and in making timely efforts to change what we can and bearing what we cannot change.
Origin of Astrology:
Astrology is a limb of Vedas that is why it is called Vedanga(Veda+Anga). Vedas are repository of knowledge. The knowledge comes from Lord Brahma, the creator who gave it to Narada Muni ,who in turn gave it to Rishis and Maharishi Parashara admits to get it from Rishis. Maharishi Parashara was the son born from mental power of Lord Brahma. We get this knowledge from Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra which is written in the form of dialogues between Sage Maitreya who asks questions which are answered by his learned Guru Sage Parashara.
